After their multiple Grammy awards and with a very strong fan base that spans over 20 years, one would think that the Green Day concert at Arco Arena(AKA Power Balance Pavilion) would sellout instantly. Unfortunately, due to some bad luck and timing, that was not the case. Coincidentally, Sacramento’s only Alternative radio station, KWOD 106.5, went belly up so there was no longer a radio presence that could assist in promotion and awareness when it came to alternative music. What this meant for the Green Day concert is that despite a very large fan base, the fans were not aware of the show and sales, with a little more than a week left, were around 50%.
Enter the Corvus Street Team, affectionately called The Murder. The Murder hit all the hot spots and high traffic locations while also leveraging our retail partners to quickly get awareness needed for the concert. We were taken back by how many people had no idea that the concert was coming to Sacramento. With the show selling out in a week, our contribution was a success, so much so, that Arco Arena opened up additional sections and sold even more tickets to the show.
After the results of the Green Day concert, we picked up more alternative rock shows in the Sacramento area including Kings of Leon, John Mayer, Dave Mathews Band, and The Muse. Since then, we have positioned ourselves as the official Street-Team for Arco Arena, promoting a large variety events from Disney on Ice to Professional Bull Riding(PBR).
